NBG’s fiber optic cables are suitable for a wide range of applications—whether in the air, on land, underwater, in a vacuum, or even in space. Our metal-based cables provide optimal protection against all types of environmental influences and can be configured and dimensioned for any specific application. We are also pleased to offer customized designs tailored to your requirements.

Harsh environment

Environments with high radiation, extreme temperatures, corrosive atmospheres, or high pressure require maximum protection for optical fibers. NBG’s cables are engineered to withstand the most demanding conditions while ensuring strain-free fiber performance.

Sensing techniques

The integrated single and multi mode fibers are compatible with the interrogation units on the market and support sensing technologies such as Raman, Brillouin, Rayleigh and Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG).

Our products for special sensing applications are manufactured to customer specifications.
Below are just a few examples to demonstrate our production capabilities.

Single layer FIMT

Fiber in Metal Tube, made from stainless steel or nickel alloy, for data transmission and sensing purposes. Fiber configuration and fiber count freely chooseable: SMF and/or MMF, 1 to 192 fibers. Gel filling for longitudinal water tightness.

Polymer insulated FIMT

Fiber in Metal Tube with additional polymer layer for better protection and integration into bigger cable assemblies. Outer diameter, fiber count and type, materials and single lengths freely chooseable.

Multi layer FIMT

Fiber in Metal Tube with additional metal tubes for higher crush and tensile strength. Ideal for integration into bigger cable assemblies with fiber count and type freely chooseable: SMF and/or MMF, 1 to 192 fibers. Gel filling for longitudinal water tightness.

Sentire T85 Double Layer

Ultra-compact fiber optic sensor cable with superior crush resistance for operation temperatures up to 85°C. Suitable for Raman, Brillouin or FBG based sensing technology. Up to 4 SMF and/or MMF.

Sentire T85 Armored

Single Armored fiber optic sensor cable with great tensile strength and high flexbility for operating temperatures up to 85°C. Suitable for Raman, Brillouin or FBG based sensing technology. Up to 4 SMF and/or MMF.

Sentire A85 Double Layer

Ultra-compact fiber optic sensor cable with superior crush resistance for acoustic measurement and operation temperatures up to 85°C. Suitable for Raman, Brillouin or FBG based sensing technology. Up to 4 SMF and/or MMF.

Sentire A85 Armored

Single Armored fiber optic sensor cable with great tensile strength and high flexibility for acoustic measurement and operating temperature up to 85°C. Suitable for Raman, Brillouin or FBG based sensing technology. Up to 4 SMF and/or MMF.

Sentire T Cryo Double Layer

Ultra-compact fiber optic sensor cable with superior crush resistance and operating temperatures down to -196°C. Available with 1 or 2 multimode fibers (MMF).

Sentire T Cryo Armored

Single Armored fiber optic sensor cable with great tensile strength, high flexibility and operating temperatures down to -196°C. Available with 1 or 2 multimode fibers (MMF).

Sentire T Cryo Double Armored

Double Armored fiber optic sensor cable with highest tensile strength for long distance pulling and operating temperatures down to -196°C. Available with 1 or 2 multimode fibers (MMF).

Sentire T150 Double Layer

Ultra-compact fiber optic sensor cable with superior crush resistance for operation temperatures up to 150°C. Suitable for Raman, Brillouin or FBG based sensing technology. Up to 8 SMF and/or MMF.

Sentire T150 Armored

Single Armored fiber optic sensor cable with great tensile strength, high flexbility and operating temperatures up to 150°C. strength and excellent flexibility. Suitable for Raman, Brillouin or FBG based sensing technology. Up to 8 SMF and/or MMF.

Sentire T150 Double Armored

Double Armored fiber optic sensor cable with highest tensile strength for long distance pulling and operating temperatures up to 150°C. Suitable for Raman, Brillouin or FBG based sensing technology. Up to 8 SMF and/or MMF.

Sentire T300 Double Layer

Ultra-compact fiber optic sensor cable with superior crush resistance for operation temperatures up to 300°C. Suitable for Raman, Brillouin or FBG based sensing technology. Up to 8 SMF and/or MMF.

Sentire T300 Armored

Single Armored fiber optic sensor cable with great tensile strength, high flexbility and operating temperatures up to 300°C. strength and excellent flexibility. Suitable for Raman, Brillouin or FBG based sensing technology. Up to 8 SMF and/or MMF.

Sentire T300 Double Armored

Double Armored fiber optic sensor cable with highest tensile strength for long distance pulling and operating temperatures up to 300°C. Suitable for Raman, Brillouin or FBG based sensing technology. Up to 8 SMF and/or MMF.

Sonosens

Fiber Optic sensor cable with 1OFS AcoustiSens and 2 SM fibers for acoustic measurement. Enhanced sensitivity and SNR ratio due to special perforated tube design.

Trisens Core

Fiber Optic based strain sensor element for operational temperature up to 70°C. Easily integrateable into bigger cable assemblies. 3 SMF with tight buffering inside a metal tube.

Trisens Cable

Fiber Optic based strain sensor cable for operational temperature up to 70°C. 3 SMF with tight buffering inside a metal tube.

Armored DTSS – Link

Fiber Optic based strain sensor cable with temperature compensation and metal armor for operational temperatures up to 70°C. 3 SMF with tight buffering inside the central tube. FIMT in stranding layer with up to 4 freely selectable fibers.
